Now is a mystical time. We have been in a certain state of being for our whole lives — our parents have been there, our grandparents — everyone since the Industrial Revolution took hold of our people.

Now, something completely new.

Shaking off the cloak of illusions, the Real World emerges, filled with fructifying mist and the clear, gentle light of Dawn.

This is freedom. Trapped in a small compartment, an eggshell, we have felt the edges of our world defined and fixed and close to us as we tried to manage them ourselves.

Now, that shell cracks. It breaks and falls away because we are Life. And life is ascending, blooming into a new state. Life longs with all its being to renew itself. We are life; we also are drawn upward.

It's only the heavy burden of the illusions that distracts us: that view we have cultivated in the past for a tiny span of time, only a few generations. Only that causes us uncertainty and diminished vital force.

It is other than the purity of Life Itself. It is a story that doesn't sustain itself beyond this moment. It is an ego, unstable and unclear, gazing into a pool and telling itself it is all there is, that this is all.

But even it has been created to live. So now we allow that shell constraining us to fall away, to break down. We rise up and shake off those old robes to embrace the new, the real, the blissful: on wings of angels, the clouds, the rain, the Angels from Heaven.

As we feel the shell falling, we look around and see the Real world emerging. We sing its song.

We serenade the Real into existence in our lives, into our minds, our hearts, our spirits. We welcome it as it emerges in us.

We embrace it with wonder and awe, as a birth. We allow, allow, allow, and beg for its morning light and mists to bathe us with purity and perfect love. This is sublime work.

To do this, we commune with it, feel it arriving in us, allow our longing to rise to embrace the Real in all its love and blessing.

We meet it on the mountaintop, where the vast, inspiring perspective nourishes our work. We unite with it on the most profound level, the level of love.

Our most fundamental relationship is with Mother Earth. We intimately digest Her children daily, we walk on Her generous body and sleep in Her arms. So we start with Her, in the form that works best for us to recognize Her in all her compassion, purity and love.

For our tradition, She is Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Honored Noblewoman.

She provides us with all nourishment. She feeds us from Her own body. She cradles us and soothes us.

So we give back to Her and Her love — the Sky — with all our hearts, using the only thing we have: offerings from Her own creations — those miraculous beings like fruit, bread, flowers and light — that have been brought forth from Her body, nourished by Her love as She receives the adoration of the Sky, the Angels from Heaven who pour down their gifts, inviting Her body to become soft and fertile. She births forth abundant blessings for all of us, the children of Earth.

We eat the Earth, and then the Earth eats us.

This Nature Honoring Harvest Ceremony is a celebration, a moment we come together, nourished and satisfied by Her ongoing love and care, our arms full of the abundance of the harvest, each part of which is Her expression in her love story with the sublime Heavens.

We set our feet on the Earth, we raise our voices and arms up to the Sky, and we weave our bodies, minds and spirits into Her story of rising up.

We bring our children, who came from our women in the way the blessings come from the land. These purer beings will Honor her, too. A life of honoring will enrich them and change our future.

With our devotions, we weave ourselves into the real story, the story of the Real.

And we fall in love, once again, with Life as it is.

We follow in the steps of the Ancestors, those humble people who followed a narrow way, a sometimes difficult way. The light in our spirits and in the Heavens above us illuminates each step forward and up into our blissful place on this lush, green beautiful, honored Earth.
